2016 AzELA Convention Schedule

2016 AZELA Convention Committee: Roger McKee (Chairperson), Sandy Forbes, Mishka Marshall, Tony Shaw, Michelle Matheson and Jarrett Haskovec (ex officio)

The program will begin at 9:30 am with welcoming remarks from AZELA President Tom Rogers. Then at approx. 9:40am, we will have our first presentation:

  • 9:40 am: NELA Update (Amicus, Legislation, CLE Programs, Convention, membership benefits); Speakers: Colleen Goodin (NELA Membership Director, Events Manager, and Publications Editor), and Michelle Matheson
  • 10:00 am: Social media: discoverability, admissibility, what to tell your client; Speaker: Kraig Marton & Jeffrey Silence
  • 10:35 am: How to oppose motions to compel arbitration and get your day in court; Speaker: Roger McKee
  • 11:10 am: Employment restrictive covenants including non-competes, and non-solicitation agreements, and AZ Trade Secrets Act, ARS 44-401 et seq.; what’s enforceable and what isn’t: Speakers: David Kresin and David Larkin
  • 11:50 am: EEOC Update: Mary Jo Neill, EEOC Regional Attorney
